Description
Oregon Promise is a state grant administered by the Higher Education Coordinating Commission’s Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC). It helps recent Oregon high school and GED graduates move into community college by covering part of their tuition at any Oregon community college. Established through legislation in 2015, the program first supported college attendance in fall 2016.
The grant provides tuition assistance rather than research funding and does not cover the full cost of college attendance. It operates as a last-dollar grant after Federal Pell Grant and Oregon Opportunity Grant aid is applied. OSAC manages awards and communicates with students, while community college financial aid offices coordinate payments to student accounts. Continuing recipients can renew support if they maintain enrollment and meet program requirements.
