Description

The Community Foundation for Monterey County’s Organizational Development Grants support focused, strategic projects that help nonprofits serving Monterey County residents become stronger, more resilient, and equitable. Reviewed by Center for Nonprofit Excellence staff, the grants address unique, non-recurring management or leadership situations and strengthen internal operations so organizations can better advance their missions.

Supported work includes strategic and succession planning, leadership transitions, fundraising infrastructure, evaluation systems, financial systems, communications, and human resources. Successful projects have integrated donor databases and trained staff, engaged consultants to guide founder transitions, and facilitated first-time strategic planning. The program prioritizes a clear vision for organizational growth, measurable capacity improvements, realistic budgets and implementation plans, and leaders actively guided by assessment, feedback, learning, and improvement.
