The Oscar G. Brockett Essay Prize is awarded annually by the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) in partnership with the Oscar G. Brockett Center for Theatre History and Criticism at the University of Texas at Austin. The prize honors the best essay, written and published in English in a refereed scholarly journal or volume by a scholarly press, on any subject related to theatre research.
