    Description

The Osseointegration Foundation (OF), the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), provides charitable grants for direct patient care in osseointegration. The program supports treatment for people with a lifetime dental deficit or severe dental trauma who cannot receive needed dental therapy because of economic constraints. Implant treatment must significantly improve the patient’s functional deficit and quality of life, with psychological and emotional benefits also considered.

The program brings together AO member care providers and commercial partners to deliver a complete treatment plan, including restorative care. Grant funds subsidize all or part of one specified patient’s treatment, while commercial partners donate materials, services, or hardware. Providers commit to completing therapy and providing three years of follow-up, without leaving the patient financially responsible for care.
