Description
The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) Resident Research Grant supports resident-driven clinical, translational, or basic research projects. Its central objective is to fund a clearly defined project that a resident can complete within a 12-month funding period and during residency training. The grant supports the resident’s own research rather than subsidizing a larger, ongoing research effort.
OTA offers two submission cycles each year, with beginning-year and mid-year funding periods. Independent reviewers assess proposals for clinical significance, investigators, innovation, approach, and environment. These criteria consider both the importance of the proposed work and the people, methods, and setting involved in carrying it out.
