Description
The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) is a nationally competitive grant program administered by the National Park Service (NPS), with Utah applications coordinated by the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation. It supports projects that enhance outdoor recreation opportunities in rural and urban communities, create new recreation spaces, reinvigorate existing parks, and strengthen connections between people and the outdoors.
Funding supports acquisition, development, and redevelopment of public outdoor recreation spaces. Acquisition may include fee-simple purchases of land or interests in land to expand recreation opportunities, conserve natural resources, and protect cultural and historic sites. Development supports new outdoor recreation infrastructure, while redevelopment improves existing facilities. Utah reviews and selects projects for submission to the national competition.
