Description
The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership program (ORLP) supports projects that create new or significantly improve outdoor recreation opportunities in qualifying communities. It is part of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). Projects must align with LWCF law and policy and respond to current executive and national priorities.
The National Park Service (NPS) selects projects through a national competition from those solicited and nominated by state LWCF lead agencies. The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT) handles applications submitted through South Carolina, while NPS reviews projects and makes final award decisions.
