Description
The Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Outreach and Restoration Grant Program supports community engagement and on-the-ground work that increases environmental knowledge, changes behavior, and strengthens stewardship of natural resources. The Trust runs the program with local government partners, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration, and Tradepoint Atlantic. Four tracks support outreach and knowledge building, behavior change, restoration, or combined outreach and restoration.
Supported work includes public education, watershed stewardship activities, stormwater management practices, and stream and wetland restoration. Examples include rain gardens, native plant and tree planting, permeable pavement, green roofs, shoreline buffers, and community cleanups. The program connects practical improvements to green spaces and waterways with opportunities for residents to learn and act, helping reduce polluted runoff and protect local natural resources.
