Description
The Outreach Initiative Program provides public funds through the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) for statewide touring and outreach activities. It expands opportunities to experience different forms of artistic and cultural expression and engagement. The program supports SFCA’s strategic priority Hoʻākoakoa—“convene” or “call together”—to build community capacity for creativity, communication, and learning.
The program focuses on under-served communities in Hawaiʻi. Its scope includes rural, socio-economically disadvantaged, and geographically disadvantaged communities, disadvantaged youth, Native or immigrant populations, and individuals with varying abilities. Supported activities must be accessible and delivered in person in community settings or through a hybrid format incorporating online or streamed participation.
