The PhotoWings Outreach Program fosters collaborative partnerships with organizations, universities, and community groups worldwide to harness the power of photography for social change, education, and cross-cultural understanding. Through joint projects, workshops, and storytelling initiatives, PhotoWings empowers individuals and communities to develop visual literacy, empathy, and communication skills, enabling them to share their stories and drive positive impact through images.
PhotoWings does not operate a traditional open grant competition. Instead, it forms partnerships with established and emerging organizations, academic institutions, and community initiatives focused on visual storytelling, media literacy, documentary work, and related fields. Support may include funding, co-production, educational resources, or strategic collaboration to amplify the impact of visual storytelling projects.
Notable partners include CatchLight, The VII Foundation, Photoville, The Everyday Projects, and Ashoka U, among others. Projects have included tuition-free workshops, festivals, educational toolkits, and initiatives in fields ranging from civic education and conservation to intergenerational storytelling and media literacy.
