Description
The New Mexico Environment Department’s Construction Programs Bureau administers the Overflow Sewer Grant (OSG) program for municipalities and municipal entities. The program supports wastewater, stormwater, and related clean water projects, with eligibility governed by Clean Water Act section 603(c). Its eligible project scope is essentially the same as the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), although OSG has narrower applicant eligibility.
Supported work includes wastewater treatment infrastructure, decentralized sewage systems, non-point source management, and measures that reduce, treat, or manage stormwater. Projects may also address water reuse, watershed needs, conservation, energy consumption, or security at publicly owned treatment works. The program provides grant funding through limited allocations, typically released once per federal fiscal year.
