Description
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) administers this Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to help communities establish local owner-occupied home repair programs. It supports improvements to housing stock while helping low- and moderate-income homeowners age in place, improve mobility, and address comfort and safety needs.
Eligible work includes roof and gutter repair or replacement, heating and cooling replacement, water heater replacement, select lighting and electrical upgrades, and ADA accessibility modifications up to the home’s threshold. Select accessibility improvements include grab bars, zero-entry or roll-in showers, wall-mounted shower seats, and ADA-compliant toilets. Projects must support the CDBG Low- and Moderate-Income Housing national objective and demonstrate community need, long-term development benefits, and commitment to sustainability.
