    Description

The Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Scholar Award supports academic discoveries and preclinical projects aimed at developing treatments for rare diseases. It is administered by the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre, a partnership between the University of Oxford and Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals in Cleveland. The award combines research funding, therapeutic development expertise, project management, and access to core facilities.

Priorities include neurological disorders, developmental disorders, rare cancers, and other rare genetic diseases with high unmet need. Any therapeutic modality is eligible. The program seeks rigorous, innovative science with potential for clinical impact, particularly novel, validated targets. It also considers later-stage preclinical work using validated technologies, rare diseases as a route to validating delivery or therapeutic platforms, and treatments with potential utility in both rare and common diseases.
