The Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) offer three one-year research fellowships annually to strengthen research skills and productivity and lower barriers to research participation. The program supports PA faculty, PA program staff, and practicing PAs in conducting high-quality, publishable studies relevant to PA education and the profession.
Fellows conduct mentor-guided research while participating in virtual seminars, a two-to-four-day seminar in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and other educational activities. The fellowship aims to expand research agendas, improve knowledge of medical research communities and data sources, and build professional networks. Its broader goal is to develop research leaders who advance the profession and mentor future PA researchers.
