The Palaeontological Association’s Career Development Grant helps early-career researchers strengthen their CVs and progress towards careers in palaeontological research or curation. It supports researchers completing their PhD or approaching the end of fixed-term employment who lack financial support for their next career-development step. Proposed activities must produce a clear, measurable output and contribute directly to a realistic career plan.
Supported activities include living costs while preparing a PhD chapter for publication or writing a fellowship or grant application, additional data collection for publication, skills-development courses, and research or training internships in another group. Assessment considers financial need, career-plan quality, the activity’s contribution to the applicant’s CV, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.
