Description
This four-week residency supports artists who are parents of at least one dependent child under 18, enabling them to advance their creative work in any of Women's Studio Workshop's studio disciplines, including intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, photography, or ceramics (facilities reopening in 2026). The grant provides a $1,450 unrestricted stipend (which may be used for childcare or other needs), up to $250 for travel, free onsite housing in a two-bedroom apartment suitable for families, and 24/7 studio access. Residents benefit from technical advice and production assistance. Childcare is not provided, but artists may bring a caregiver, arrange for local childcare, or use childcare services near their home base. Children must always be supervised by an adult and are not allowed in studio spaces.
