Description
This grant program, administered by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) Special Education Services Section, supports Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in Alabama to implement high-quality training and counseling initiatives for parents and guardians of children with disabilities. The aim is to enhance parent-school partnerships, equip families with the knowledge and skills needed to support their children's Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and ultimately improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities. Allowable activities include universal and targeted parent training, counseling services (when determined necessary by a child's IEP team), and support for parent participation in relevant state conferences.
