Description

This grant from the European Commission funds interdisciplinary, community-based participatory research targeting the health impacts of soil pollution on populations living or working near polluted or potentially polluted sites across the EU. Projects should map and identify human diseases and health outcomes linked to soil pollution, investigate both direct and indirect health impacts, and involve private sector stakeholders in developing mitigation and remediation strategies. Emphasis is placed on engaging vulnerable populations, addressing unmet medical needs, and using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including the collection of lived experience data. Proposals must demonstrate strategies for raising public awareness, fostering community resilience, and delivering actionable recommendations to policymakers. All outputs must ensure open access, sustainability, and interoperability of data, in coordination with the European Union Soil Observatory and SoilWise, adhering to FAIR data principles.
