Description
Partners for Fish and Wildlife is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) program that works with other organizations and individuals to restore, improve, and protect habitat on privately owned land. Land remains in private ownership. Eligible work benefits threatened or endangered species, forested riparian areas, fragmented aquatic habitats, wetlands and adjacent uplands, or important migratory-bird habitats. Native grassland restoration is one example.
In Tennessee, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and conservation partners help landowners access voluntary technical advice and financial assistance for wildlife habitat. Landowners can also consult a biologist about habitat management without joining a formal conservation program.
