Summary: Supports short-term social sciences and humanities research partnerships between a postsecondary institution and one public, private or not-for-profit organization.
Key Information: Projects must involve a single partner organization, with cash and/or in-kind contributions expected.
Description
Partnership Engage Grants are offered by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) for short-term partnered research involving a postsecondary institution and a single organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sectors. Projects contribute knowledge in the social sciences and/or humanities while addressing objectives relevant and significant to the partner organization.
Partnership approaches can include cross-sector co-creation of knowledge, partnered knowledge mobilization, or a combination of approaches. Applications explain how the partner’s expertise informs the research and how it participates in intellectual leadership and decision-making. Projects also describe plans for knowledge uptake among academic and/or non-academic audiences, anticipated benefits, and the roles of students, emerging scholars or other highly qualified personnel, where applicable.
