Description
The Port Authority Studies and Pilot Projects Program (PASPP), run by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), supports air quality studies and pilot projects focused on cargo movement at public seaports. Projects investigate ways to potentially reduce nitrogen oxides (NOX) and particulate matter (PM) emissions, including changes to port equipment, operations, and supporting technology.
Previously funded work has tested electric terminal tractors and microgrid shore power technology, analyzed exhaust from ships at berth, and piloted truck appointment scheduling to reduce idling at a port grain elevator.
