The Pasteur International Joint Research Unit (PIU) is a five-year, virtual collaborative framework designed to unite research teams across two or three international institutions, with at least one team from the Institut Pasteur or its affiliated institutes. The PIU aims to pool complementary expertise to develop innovative research programs addressing topics of mutual interest, foster scientific cooperation, and enhance opportunities for attracting substantial external funding. Each PIU is co-led by representatives from each partner institution, who retain their administrative affiliations while sharing scientific responsibility. The initiative is intended to strengthen relationships between Institut Pasteur and global research institutions, enhance research visibility, and support high-impact scientific endeavors.
