Description
The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) supports new clinical research initiatives focused on the needs and experiences of people with bladder cancer. The award aims to improve understanding of the disease, its treatment, and the care patients receive. Relevant topics include shared decision making, access to care, quality of care, quality of life, health disparities, comparative effectiveness, patient-centered outcomes, and survivorship.
The award is intended for investigators launching careers in patient-centered clinical research and aims to help them become more competitive for subsequent funding. Investigators may bring promising approaches from other areas of cancer or biomedical and health science research to bladder cancer. Applications involving cross-disciplinary teams, including advanced practice providers, receive favorable review.
