Description
The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) supports junior- through senior-level full-time faculty investigators launching careers in patient-centered clinical research. The award advances new initiatives addressing bladder cancer and/or upper tract urothelial carcinoma while helping investigators become more competitive for subsequent research funding. Relevant work includes shared decision-making, access to care, care quality, quality of life, health disparities, comparative effectiveness, patient-centered outcomes, and survivorship.
Projects must demonstrate a meaningful commitment to patient-centered clinical bladder cancer research, rather than merely supplement existing research efforts. Proposals should include measurable outcomes and milestones achievable within three years. Cross-disciplinary teams, including advanced practice providers and/or nurses, receive favorable consideration. Investigators with experience in other cancer, biomedical, or health science research areas may apply promising approaches to bladder cancer research.
