    Description

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans selects 30 Fellows annually across all fields of graduate and professional study. The program supports immigrants and children of immigrants whose work shows promise for distinctive contributions to American society, culture, or their fields. Tuition and stipend support help Fellows pursue educational opportunities, take risks in their training, and graduate with less debt.

Selection is merit-based and holistic, recognizing different immigrant experiences and educational backgrounds. Priorities include creativity, originality, initiative, sustained effort, and graduate training that advances long-term career goals. The program also emphasizes human rights, the rule of law, personal liberty, and the responsibilities of citizenship. Beyond funding, Fellows join a lifelong alumni community connected by the immigrant experience and a commitment to giving back.
