Description
The Renaissance Society of America (RSA) awards a series of competitive fellowships to its members to support research and publication projects that advance scholarly knowledge of the Renaissance period (1300–1700). These fellowships are funded through donations, bequests, and external grants, and include several categories:
- Paul Oskar Kristeller Fellowships: For research in any field except Art History.
- RSA-Samuel H. Kress Research Fellowships in Renaissance Art History: Specifically for Art History.
- RSA-Virginia Fox Stern Residential Fellowship: For research using rare book and manuscript collections at Johns Hopkins University.
Fellowship funds may be used for a variety of research-related expenses, including travel, access fees, digital images and permissions, copy-editing, publication subventions, dependent care, and summer stipends for contingent faculty. The program aims to foster high-quality scholarship among RSA members and promote significant contributions to Renaissance studies.
