Key Information: Only statewide youth-serving 501(c)(4) nonprofits may apply, on behalf of at least three subrecipients.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), through its School Safety and Security Committee, supports structured out-of-school opportunities for at-risk youth through Statewide BOOST. Programs use engaged mentors and evidence-based or evidence-informed practices before school, after school, or during summer. Goals include improving social, emotional, academic, and career readiness, preventing teenage pregnancies, reducing negative behaviors, and providing safe environments.
Funding can establish, sustain, expand, enhance, or restart programming responsive to community needs, including career exploration and formal or informal work-based learning. Statewide organizations apply on behalf of local subrecipients and oversee their performance. Projects must identify measurable goals and track participation and outcomes.
