    Description

The Peace & Recovery Initiative (PRI), run by Innovations for Poverty Action and funded by UK International Development, supports research and evidence use to improve outcomes for conflict- and crisis-affected populations. It funds impact evaluations, pilots, exploratory work, research infrastructure and public goods, and policy outreach. Its scope includes war, repression, electoral and intergroup violence, organized crime, collective action, terrorism, and recovery from conflict, climate shocks, and natural disasters.

PRI prioritizes generalizable learning that develops or tests fundamental theories of peace, violence, and recovery. Research areas include preventing participation in violence, reintegrating armed groups, reducing prejudice, building social cohesion and resilience, strengthening institutions and justice, and preventing future crises. The initiative particularly values policy-relevant studies that challenge common beliefs, test innovative interventions, identify mechanisms, or generate evidence in understudied settings.
