Description
The Pearsall Fellowship in Naval and Maritime History, funded by the Alan Pearsall Bequest and administered by the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), offers two one-year postdoctoral Visiting Fellowships each year. The fellowships are open to scholars pursuing research on any aspect of Naval and Maritime History, broadly defined, from the fall of the Roman Empire to the present day and covering any geographical region. Fellows benefit from mentorship, career development support, access to the IHR’s extensive academic resources, and integration into a vibrant scholarly community.
Fellows are expected to undertake new research or significant public/policy engagement projects, participate actively in IHR seminars and events, and contribute to the institute’s intellectual life.
