    Description

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) Research Program funds research across any pediatric brain tumor type or subtype. Beginning in 2026, PBTF is shifting from standalone projects toward shared data and infrastructure, with artificial intelligence and machine learning central to its strategy. Idea, Impact, and Innovation Awards support different stages of scientific maturity, from new hypotheses and computational approaches to validated models and multi-site collaborations.

Projects must advance one or more research pillars: Precision Medicine, Effective Therapies, and Survivorship and Longitudinal Outcomes. Priorities include diagnostics, early detection, biomarkers, drug delivery, targeted and combination treatments, late treatment effects, relapse monitoring, and cognitive and quality-of-life outcomes. Across these areas, projects must draw from and contribute to a shared, harmonized pediatric brain tumor data ecosystem, producing reusable, research-ready data and approaches that scale across federated, multi-modal datasets.
