Description
Mayo Clinic’s Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship in Rochester, Minnesota, is a three-year program combining two years of intensive clinical training with one cumulative year of clinical or laboratory-based research. The program aims to develop the clinical expertise and intellectual curiosity needed to become a skilled, compassionate pediatric cardiologist, with preparation for a full-time academic career.
Fellows receive one-on-one mentoring and direct supervision as they assume increasing responsibility for patient care. Training includes echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, intensive care, continuity clinics, and didactic and case-based conferences. Research is integrated throughout the fellowship through projects conducted with faculty members. Graduates are prepared for academic or private cardiology practice, or further subspecialty training in areas such as advanced imaging, interventional catheterization, electrophysiology, and heart failure/transplant.
