Description
The Knights Templar Eye Foundation’s Career-Starter Research Grants help clinician scientists and basic research scientists establish independent careers studying vision-threatening diseases in infants and children. The program supports research that could advance understanding, prevention, or treatment of conditions such as amblyopia, congenital cataract or glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, ocular malformations, congenital nystagmus, retinal dystrophies, and retinoblastoma.
Basic research on the eye or visual-system development is welcome when it directly relates to pediatric eye disease. Projects must be original and sufficiently distinct from a mentor’s work that applicants can carry the research forward as they establish their own programs.
