    Description

The Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA), in partnership with HS Connect and the HS Foundation, offers this challenge grant to support an early-to-mid career investigator pursuing patient-centric research on pediatric hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). HS is a chronic inflammatory disease with substantial effects on quality of life, psychosocial well-being, and long-term health. It remains underdiagnosed, undertreated, and understudied in children and adolescents.

The program supports basic science, translational research, clinical research, epidemiology, and technology projects addressing treatment effectiveness, disease progression, procedures, or diverse recruitment. It prioritizes multidisciplinary collaboration involving researchers, clinicians, and patient stakeholders, as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion. Projects should help build and sustain a larger research program, with additional priority for plans to use results as the foundation for larger-scale future studies.
