    Description

The Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA), in partnership with the Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD), offers the William Weston Career Development Award to support one early-career investigator conducting an innovative research study under a senior mentor. The program addresses the substantial burden of childhood skin diseases, limited effective treatments, slow research progress, and small number of board-certified pediatric dermatologists.

The award combines protected research time, resources for research activities, and expert mentorship to develop the next generation of clinician scientists. Its long-term goal is to help recipients establish sustained careers in pediatric dermatology and position them for future funding from the Dermatology Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, or other agencies.
