Description
The Pelotonia Scholars Program at Ohio State University supports promising undergraduate, graduate, medical and postdoctoral researchers with the potential to become independent cancer scientists. Established in 2010, it is funded by Pelotonia, a Columbus-based organization dedicated to accelerating innovative cancer research. The program supports multidisciplinary work regardless of field of study, including traditional sciences, engineering, history, business and computer science.
Awards combine research support with career development through independent cancer research projects. A Pelotonia Scholar Award Committee, comprising Ohio State basic, translational and clinical researchers from multiple disciplines, oversees the program and makes awards. Research supported by the program spans cancer prevention, treatment, biological mechanisms and survivorship, reflecting the OSUCCC – James and Pelotonia’s shared commitment to a cancer-free world.
