Description
Creative Districts is a program of Pennsylvania Creative Industries, powered by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. It supports communities in transforming walkable, culturally vibrant areas into centers of economic growth, local identity, and inclusive revitalization. Districts bring together cultural facilities, creative businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and culture bearers to strengthen local assets, improve residents’ quality of life, and attract visitors, talent, and investment.
Funding supports district management, planning, promotion, programming, public art, community engagement, and the development, attraction, and retention of creative organizations and small businesses. The five-year designation also provides statewide promotion, technical assistance, peer learning, networking, and formal recognition and branding. Communities develop action plans to guide implementation, track progress, and strengthen long-term sustainability.
