This program funds the formal designation and development of Creative Districts in Pennsylvania—walkable, geographically defined areas with a concentration of cultural facilities, creative businesses, artists, and culture bearers. The initiative is designed to help communities leverage their creative assets to foster economic growth, strengthen local identity, attract visitors, and promote inclusive revitalization. Grants support activities such as district management, planning, public art, community engagement, programming, and creative business development. In addition to funding, the program offers technical assistance, statewide promotion, and peer networking opportunities. Grantees must develop a comprehensive 5-year action plan and commit to ongoing planning, evaluation, and sustainability.
