Description
The Pennsylvania Grid Resilience Grant Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), funds projects that improve the resilience and reliability of the state's electric grid to mitigate the impacts of disruptive events such as extreme weather, wildfires, or other disasters. Supported by the U.S. Department of Energy through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), this program seeks innovative, advanced, and transformative projects that promote grid reliability, workforce and economic benefits, and environmental resilience for both rural and urban communities.
Eligible projects include weatherization, fire prevention, advanced monitoring and control, undergrounding equipment, utility pole management, vegetation management, adaptive protection, hardening of infrastructure, and more. The program prioritizes projects that address the worst performing circuits, deliver broad community benefits, and support state climate and energy goals.
