Description
The Pennsylvania Grid Resilience Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), through its Energy Programs Office. Funded by a U.S. Department of Energy formula grant under Section 40101(d) of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, it supports resilience measures throughout Pennsylvania intended to mitigate electric grid disruptions.
The program funds infrastructure improvements and technologies such as weatherization, fire prevention, monitoring and controls, undergrounding equipment, conductor replacement, vegetation management, and grid hardening. It also supports adaptive protection, advanced modeling, and infrastructure that enhances adaptive capacity during disruptive events. Evaluation considers worst-performing circuits, grid reliability, economic resilience, workforce and environmental benefits, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, rural and urban community outcomes, and project readiness.
