Description
The Pennsylvania Military Community Enhancement Commission Local Defense Group Grant is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). It funds projects that demonstrably support or enhance the military value of military installations and organizations in Pennsylvania. The program works through Local Defense Groups with a demonstrated interest and investment in the success of nearby military installations or organizations.
Eligible work includes military-value assessments, economic impact and joint land-use studies, consulting, facility development or construction, and activities related to Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) or other federal actions affecting installations. The program also supports efforts to attract additional missions and educate elected officials about local installations and their missions. PMCEC’s broader focus areas include defense community engagement, BRAC awareness, economic development, and workforce and education pipelines.
