Key Information: Applicants must have lived in Wyoming for 20 of the previous 24 months and maintain residency after receiving an award.
Description
The Wyoming Arts Council’s Performing Arts Fellowships recognize outstanding achievement across creative and performance disciplines. Established in 1990, the program supports Wyoming-based performers, composers, choreographers, directors, and designers whose work demonstrates exceptional skill and creativity. Awards are made in two categories, Music and Theatre/Dance, through anonymous review by performing arts experts from outside Wyoming.
The program encompasses both the creation of original work and interpretation through performance. Eligible forms include instrumental and vocal music, electronic works, singer-songwriting, dance in any style, theatre, musical theatre, storytelling, directing, and technical theatre design. Recipients also work with the Arts Council to identify an appropriate venue or showcase where they can publicly share their work.
