The Performing Arts Program supports New York City performing arts organizations and select artist development programs, funding stage work and ongoing operations to enrich the city’s cultural life.

Summary: Supports New York City organizations presenting high-quality dance, music, opera and theatre, and a limited number of artist development programs.
Key Information: Applicants must be New York City–based and incorporated 501(c)(3) organizations with a recent independent financial audit or review.
Description
The Fan Fox & Leslie R. Samuels Foundation’s Performing Arts Program supports not-for-profit New York City organizations producing and presenting dance, music, opera and theatre, from classical work to contemporary forms. It primarily funds established companies with the capacity to present traditional work, new creations or varied repertoires that enrich the city’s cultural life. It sustains major support for select Lincoln Center organizations and a broader roster of local companies.
Most grants provide general operating support. The Foundation also considers targeted creative projects and local seasons, and may fund special projects addressing audience access, preservation or other field priorities when funds are available. An extremely limited number of grants support pre-professional conservatory and development programs for artists pursuing full-time performing arts careers.
