Description
The Performing Arts Residencies program, administered by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), is designed to support New York-based nonprofit performing arts companies or ensembles in conducting residencies of at least three consecutive weeks in regions outside their home county and outside New York City. The initiative aims to foster artistic diversity, develop new audiences, and strengthen the cultural resources of host communities through creative engagement, public performances, and community outreach. Priority is given to projects that bring underrepresented art forms and genres to new audiences and emphasize educational activities and direct community involvement.
