Description
The Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES) Rising Star Grant supports and encourages research efforts by fellows in pediatric endocrinology. This small-grant program complements the Society’s larger Research Fellowship Grant program. Review emphasizes the significance and innovation of the proposed work, the strength and feasibility of its research approach and analysis plan, and its potential to advance the fellow’s research training.
One award, the Raphael David, MD Rising Star Grant, gives preference to research related to the developmental biology of the testes or adrenal gland. Supported work has also addressed fertility communication in Turner syndrome, gender-affirming care for nonbinary youth, diabetes diagnosis and management, continuous glucose monitoring in cystic fibrosis, and medullary thyroid cancer cells.
