Description
The Peter J. Dunn Awards for Green Chemistry & Engineering are administered by the American Chemical Society’s ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable. Established in 2016, the awards recognize excellence in researching, developing, and implementing green chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry and its allied industrial partners. Eligible work includes greener synthetic routes and associated processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients or intermediates, reaction conditions, and chemical or manufacturing process technologies.
The focus is a specific innovative technology demonstrated at meaningful scale, rather than career achievement or routine process optimization. Nominations must explain significant sustainability improvements, such as reduced process mass intensity, waste, environmental impact, or use of hazardous chemicals. The awards aim to recognize pioneering industrial scientists and inspire greater sustainability across pharmaceutical science.
