The Peter J. Dunn Awards for Green Chemistry & Engineering, presented by the American Chemical Society (ACS) Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable, celebrate exceptional achievements in developing and implementing green chemistry solutions within the pharmaceutical sector and allied industries. The award spotlights work that demonstrates meaningful advances in sustainable synthetic routes, reaction conditions, and process technologies for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. Emphasis is placed on impactful environmental, safety, and efficiency outcomes—such as waste reduction, lower process mass intensity, and the elimination or reduction of hazardous substances—beyond routine process optimization. The award aims to inspire and recognize pioneering efforts that set new benchmarks for sustainability in pharmaceutical chemistry.
