Description
The Petroleum Reimbursement Fund, administered by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), offers financial assistance to eligible parties for costs associated with investigating, remediating, and monitoring contamination resulting from petroleum storage facilities. This includes both aboveground (AST) and underground storage tanks (UST), as well as facilities affected by gasoline ethers (e.g., MtBE). The Fund acts as "excess insurance," reimbursing facility owners, landowners, and water supply well owners for eligible corrective actions and third-party damages when petroleum contamination impacts the environment or water supplies.
