Description
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation’s PFF Scholars program supports early-stage investigators conducting mentored research and developing careers as independent investigators in interstitial lung disease. It aims to accelerate promising studies, generate data for larger grants, and help researchers compete for K- or R-level funding. Supported work spans basic science, translational research, clinical research, epidemiology, and health services research, with an emphasis on improving understanding of pulmonary fibrosis and ultimately advancing therapies, care, and quality of life.
The Foundation also partners with the Pulmonary Hypertension Association on an award focused on pulmonary hypertension in the setting of interstitial lung disease (ILD-PH). This award seeks innovative research with strong potential to advance discovery and rapidly improve understanding of ILD-PH. The Foundation’s Research Review Committee administers peer review.
