Pfizer’s competitive quality improvement (QI) program supports locally adapted models, collaborative approaches, and standardized pathways for multidisciplinary hemophilia care in mainland China. As innovative therapies, including non-factor therapies, make care more complex, the program aims to translate existing knowledge into routine practice, improve consistency of care, and achieve better patient outcomes.
Projects should address defined practice gaps through measurable, sustainable improvements. Priority areas include breakthrough bleeding, joint assessment, rehabilitation and exercise, pain management, perioperative care, laboratory testing, nursing care, and collaboration across hemophilia centers. System-level changes receive high priority; education may be a component. The program supports implementation-focused QI rather than clinical research or evaluations of therapeutic or diagnostic efficacy.
