Summary: Supports independent research on ATM-AVI tissue penetration and its relationship to clinical outcomes in adults with limited treatment options.
Key Information: Both the institution and principal investigator must be based in Mainland China.
Pfizer’s competitive research grant program supports independent studies of aztreonam-avibactam (ATM-AVI) tissue penetration and its correlation with clinical outcomes in adult patients with limited treatment options. The target population comprises adults with suspected or documented carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) or Stenotrophomonas maltophilia infections for whom effective treatment options are limited.
Research may examine pulmonary, intra-abdominal, central nervous system, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, or other clinically accessible infection sites. Priorities include tissue penetration at target infection sites, site-specific exposure, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic target attainment, and associations between tissue exposure and outcomes such as clinical cure and microbiological eradication. Pfizer makes award decisions through internal review; investigators retain responsibility for designing, implementing, sponsoring, and conducting the research.
