$1,500 stipend for travel to ACS Spring Meeting; up to 8 awards annually

Recognizes and supports emerging graduate and postdoctoral researchers in select chemistry fields to present at the ACS Spring Meeting.

--- ## Description The award provides recognition and financial support to up to eight graduate students (second year and above) and postdoctoral researchers working in organic chemistry, synthetic methodology, total synthesis, medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, or chemical biology. Recipients are invited to present their research at an awards symposium during the ACS Spring Meeting and are honored at dedicated Women Chemists Committee (WCC) events. The $1,500 stipend is intended to defray travel costs associated with attending the meeting. --- ## Due Dates - July 2026 (anticipated/projected; applications due by 11:00 p.m. ET) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - $1,500 stipend per awardee to support travel to the ACS Spring Meeting - Up to 8 awards granted annually --- ## Eligibility - Open to individuals in their second year or above of graduate studies, and postdoctoral researchers - Research area must be one of: organic chemistry, synthetic methodology, total synthesis, medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, or chemical biology - Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents - Previous recipients of the Pfizer Emergent Leader Award are not eligible to apply again --- ## Application Process Applicants must submit the following: - Resume or CV (including permanent address) - Brief cover letter (1 page) describing the impact of the award on their scientific career - Proposed abstract for the WCC/Pfizer Emergent Leader Award Symposium - Letter from advisor commenting on technical ability, potential, and confirming participation at the ACS Spring Meeting if selected Applications are typically accepted via an online form available on the program page.
