Advancing Real-World Evidence in Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies Through a German Disease Registry supports investigators building registries to understand disease and improve future patient care.
Funder: Pfizer Inc.
Due Dates: December 18, 2026 (Submission deadline)
Funding Amounts: Up to €350,000 per project for up to 3 years; €350,000 total estimated budget
Summary: Supports independent German idiopathic inflammatory myopathy registries generating longitudinal real-world evidence to improve understanding and future patient care.
Key Information: Both the institution and PI must be based in Germany, and patient recruitment must begin no later than early 2028.
Pfizer’s competitive research grant program supports the establishment, expansion, or strengthening of German disease registries for idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM). It welcomes existing, developing, and newly planned registries collecting longitudinal, high-quality data on disease burden, care pathways, treatment patterns, outcomes, safety, and unmet needs.
The program emphasizes standardized physician-reported and patient-reported data, alignment where feasible with consensus-based myositis Common Data Elements, and interoperability with national and international registries. Registries should represent rheumatology, dermatology, and neurology across hospital-based, specialist-center, and office-based care. Supported infrastructure includes governance, data management, site setup, quality monitoring, and processes enabling regulatory safety reporting where applicable. Projects must remain investigator-led and independent of Pfizer’s protocol development, registry conduct, analysis, and publication decisions.
