    Description

Pfizer’s competitive research grant program supports retrospective observational studies of aztreonam-avibactam (ATM-AVI) outcomes in adults with limited treatment options. Eligible research concerns patients treated for suspected or documented infections caused by aerobic gram-negative organisms where antimicrobial resistance limits effective treatment. Organisms of interest include carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Relevant infections include bloodstream infections, central nervous system infections, complicated urinary tract infections, and other serious infections.

The program seeks evidence on clinical effectiveness, microbiological response and pathogen characteristics, and healthcare resource utilization following ATM-AVI treatment. Studies across diverse patient populations, infection characteristics, and clinical practice settings are encouraged. Pfizer makes funding decisions through internal review, while grantees independently design and conduct the research.
