--- ## Description This scheme funds the full costs of a PhD studentship in dementia research, including a stipend in line with UKRI rates, Home-rate tuition fees, and up to £15,000 per year for research and travel expenses for up to four years. The program is designed to support supervisors and research teams at UK academic or research institutions to train the next generation of dementia scientists. National or international secondments are encouraged, and projects must align with Alzheimer’s Research UK’s remit, focusing on the causes, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of dementia. The scheme aims to foster high-quality, impactful research and offers flexibility regarding project start dates. --- ## Due Dates - March 2027 (anticipated/projected, full application deadline) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Stipend in line with UKRI rates (for up to 4 years) - PhD tuition fees at the Home (UK) student rate - Research and travel costs up to £15,000 per annum - Maximum duration: 4 years Note: Tuition fees for international students are not covered; only the Home rate is funded. --- ## Eligibility - **Lead Applicant:** Must be the prospective PhD supervisor (not the student) and based at a UK academic or research institution. - **Supervisory Team:** Applications can include co-supervisors and collaborators from outside the UK. - **Contract:** Lead Applicant must hold a contract (fixed term or tenure) covering the grant duration.
